Why you should choose me as your therapist
1. I have close to 25 years of experience working with persons who struggle with a variety of adjustment, mental health, self-esteem and addiction concerns.
2. I have specialized experience in addictions including nicotine dependence, the one addiction which is often the forgotten addiction, the ignored addiction and yet, often the hardest to quit.
3. I have a record of success with clients, having helped persons who even in the darkest part of an addiction have not only found their way out, but flourished.
4. I work with you on a personal basis as no single modality of therapy works for everyone.
5. I am a mama and understand the rigors of parenthood; I also understand the complexities of postpartum distress as I have both recovered from them myself and continue to engage in trainings supporting my efforts to help persons recover.
6. I am trained in therapeutic aspects of yoga, mindfulness and pranayama (yogic breathing strategies), but I will not force them upon you; if you want to try, you are welcome.
7. I am kind, understanding and compassionate while also firm, challenging and encouraging.
8. Should you be unable to visit my office, I am experienced with telephonic and tele-health counseling.
9. I love learning and attend educational trainings when I am able. My brain thrives on challenges which includes learning techniques and therapeutic modalities. It's important to me that clients have options for their treatment.
10. I enjoy people of all kinds, all types and all ways.
11. I am a first generation American, an anchor baby. I consider myself a global citizen and value and welcome the fabric of our world as being one of many colors, nationalities, races, identities, and cultures. Everyone is welcome here.
